Third Saturday Swing: Want Some Swing Dance Lessons?

It's this Saturday! Live music, competitions, and a performance by "The California Rolls" swing dance team. All that and the kitchen sink (BYOKS) for $12!!

WANT TO TAKE SOME DANCE LESSONS?

Interested in taking lessons? You are in luck! Southern California boasts many of the world's greatest swing dance teachers. You need only decide on what type of lessons you want to take:

Venue Lessons:

When you go out swing dancing, many venues will offer a "free" swing lesson with your cover charge. Most venue lessons are at a beginner level with the assumption that people in the lesson have never done any swing dancing.

THIS IS GOOD FOR... those who are just curious and want to try it out. Also good for the casual dancer or social dancer who appreciates the social dance scene. Venue lessons are not usually progressive.

Group Lessons:

This is usually offered through a studio or by a teacher individually. These are usually done as a series with a series consisting of classes once a week for four to six weeks. Group lessons are usually progressive.

THIS IS GOOD FOR... people who want to learn faster and want the closer attention of teachers. Group lessons are popular for three reasons: 1) affordability compared to private lessons, 2) an avenue to meet other like-minded dancers, and 3) they are progressive. Group lessons are also good for those folks that just like to take classes and do not necessarily like to go out social dancing.

Private Lessons:

Just what it sounds like, private lessons offer the ultimate in convenience and attention for the student.

THIS IS GOOD FOR... those people with "special circumstances" (e.g. weddings, auditions), those that appreciate the personal attention, and for those that are not satisfied or are beyond venue lessons and group lessons.

Thursdays:	LindyGroove @ Pasadena. Beginning and Intermediate Lessons every week.
Fridays:	Do Something Blue @ San Marino. Last Friday of the month free blues lesson. Memories @ Whittier. Beginning and Intermediate Lessons every week.
Saturdays:	Third Saturday Swing @ Pasadena (THIS IS US!). Beginning lesson every third Saturday. Pasadena Ballroom Dance Association @ Pasadena. Beginning lesson every week.
Sundays:	The Derby @ Los Feliz. Beginning lesson every week.
